Home Safety Information Sessions

Did you know that the home is the most common location for childhood injury?

Kidsafe Victoria provides home safety information sessions to a wide range of groups including early childhood centres, community organisation and parents groups. The purpose of the sessions is to provide attendees with neutral, evidence based information on injury prevention in the home and to facilitate the uptake of prevention strategies in the home.

Sessions run for 1 hour and contain information on common child injury topics including:

  • Burns and scalds
  • Drowning and near drowning
  • Falls
  • Cuts and finger jams
  • Poisoning
  • Choking and suffocation
  • Dog bites and pet safety, and;
  • Road safety

Participants are provided with take home resource packs which contain information on a wide range of child injury prevention issues.
