Farm Safety Creative Competition

farmSatety300Throughout term 3 and 4, with the support of WorkSafe Victoria, Kidsafe ran a farm safety creative competition for Victorian primary school aged children. As part of the campaign, students were invited to create a video, illustrated story or poster around the theme of ‘staying safe on the farm’. We received many great entries from primary schools across the state covering water safety, hazards posed by animals, safety around machinery and more. You can view the winning entries here. Also keep an eye out on our social media for posts featuring the winning entries!

Look Before You Lock Campaign

Look before you lock

A new campaign has been launched by the Victorian Government which reminds parents and carers that anyone can accidentally leave their child in a car.

The ‘Look Before You Lock’ campaign highlights how extreme exhaustion, stress or a change in routine can all interfere with a person’s short term memory.

The campaign encourages parents and carers to develop new habits to minimise the risk, such as leaving your handbag, phone or wallet on the backseat and creating a mental list of the things to check each time they leave the car e.g. baby, keys, wallet, phone.
